DISCLAIMER:

This is NOT a real Mass nor is meant to take the place of a real Mass. This simulation is meant to be of educational use for those
uninitiated to see how the Catholic Church goes about their service and to deepen general understanding of the Catholic Faith.

Also this is not an exact transcription of a real Mass, this is just to provide a general and relatively realistic outline
of how a Mass generally goes in the Roman Catholic Rite.

INTRODUCTORY RITE

Fr.Bob: In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Fr.Bob: As we prepare to celebrate the mystery of Christ's love, let us
acknowledge our failures and ask the Lord for pardon and strength.

Fr.Bob: I confess to almighty God, and to you, my brothers and sisters, that I have greatly sinned,
in my thoughts and in my words, in what I have done, and in what I have failed to do,
(you should hit your chest 3x now - once with each "fault" - but not too hard) through my fault, through my fault, through my most grievous fault;
therefore I ask blessed Mary, ever-Virgin, all the Angels and Saints, and you, my brothers and sisters,
to pray for me to the Lord our God. May almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and bring us to everlasting life. Amen.

LITURGY OF THE WORD

Br.John: A reading from the book of Acts:

Philip went down to the city of Samaria and proclaimed the Christ to them. With one accord, the crowds paid attention to what was said by Philip when they heard it and saw the signs he was doing.
For unclean spirits, crying out in a loud voice, came out of many possessed people, and many paralyzed or crippled people were cured. There was great joy in that city.
Now when the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had accepted the word of God, they sent them Peter and John, who went down and prayed for them,
that they might receive the Holy Spirit, for it had not yet fallen upon any of them; they had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then they laid hands on them and they received the Holy Spirit.

For it is better to suffer for doing good, if that be the will of God, than for doing evil. For Christ also suffered for sins once, the righteous for the sake of the unrighteous,

Fr.Bob: A reading from the holy Gospel as according to the apostle John:
Jesus said to his disciples: “If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate to be with you always,
the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot accept, because it neither sees nor knows him. But you know him, because he remains with you, and will be in you.
I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. In a little while the world will no longer see me, but you will see me, because I live and you will live. On that day you will realize that I am in my Father
and you are in me and I in you. Whoever has my commandments and observes them is the one who loves me. And whoever loves me will be loved by my Father,
and I will love him and reveal myself to him.”

Fr.Bob: Good evening everyone!

Good evening Father!

Fr.Bob: So in today's readings we first looked at Acts, and how the city of Samaria was filled with sin, disease, struggles that are hard to bear.
Yet when Philip entered the city, he was bold with the spirit and preached to the people, healing them of all sorts of things. I'm sure we can
plenty see this with our own lives, before we truly knew or loved Christ. We sin, deal with hardships and consequences that we wouldnt otherwise
have to. Yet with Christ, the truth of our sins hits us, and we realize for the first time after our baptizism just how sorrowful we are. Yet,
because we are now aware of the sin that plagues us, we are already on the first step in the path to spiritual recovery. I'm sure this is how
it had been in Samaria after the baptism, they became aware much like Adam and Eve, thus the apostles Paul and John came forth to lay hands on
the Samarians, and the Holy Spirit was laid on those followers as He is laid upon us and our hearts.

Fr.Bob: The story of Samaria sets forth the next reading, being from Peter to the church. Peter calls the followers to Christ, but not just in sacramental
worship but also through the way we conduct ourselves among non-believers. To right your conduct is to "Sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts", as
Christ taught us sinners with the utmost respect and love, we should do so for new-comers to the faith and those who are not yet in faith. The main
point Peter drives home is that despite the ridicule we may experience, we are to answer with the love of Christ, and when that is mocked, remember
Christ's sacrifice, as He was killed in the most humiliating way ever concieved. This exact lesson is how the Spirit that guided Philip brought forth
the whole city of Samaria from their sins.

Fr.Bob: Lastly we come to the Gospel of John. In our exerpt from today's reading, Jesus states,"If you love me, you will keep my commandments." At first glance
this may seem very legalistic, almost as though Christ is a pharisee, but it's far different than that. Christ states right after, "And I will ask the
Father, and he will give you another Advocate to be with you always", this later being known to us as the Holy Spirit. This "legalism" is not just
following rules because God says so, no no, it is God giving himself fully to you in form of Spirit. As we know from elsewhere, light cannot be where
darkness is and vice versa. This applies here as well, thus why the Spirit cannot fully dwell in a person who has separated themselves from God through
sinning. This isn't legalism, it's love while still applying perfectly just law.

Fr.Bob: The main focus of our readings today is 1. The power of the Spirit, 2. How to sanctify ourselves to make ourselves a good vessel for the loving nature of the Spirit, and lastly the perfect balance of God's love and justice through the Spirit.

*Everyone says the Nicene Creed: I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.
I believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation
he came down from heaven, (you're suppose to bow for the next two lines) and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death, and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.
He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son he is adored
and glorified, who has spoken through the Prophets. I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one baptism
for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Fr.Bob: Now let us offer our petitions to the Lord our God, that through beseeching Him our petitions may be granted.

Fr.Bob: For the Pope, Cardinals, Archbishops, Bishops, and all the clergy, that they continue their pastoral work in Christ our Lord.
We pray to the Lord.

Lord, hear our prayer.

Fr.Bob: For the local authorities and first responders that risk their lives everyday to protect and serve, that they may remain safe and continue their work.
We pray to the Lord.

Fr.Bob: For the laity and the laymen, that they may be saved and brought to salvation by Christ our Lord.

LITURGY OF THE EUCHARIST

Fr.Bob: Blessed are you, Lord, God of all creation. Through your goodness we have this bread to offer,
which earth has given and human hands have made. It will become for us the bread of life.

Blessed be God forever.

Fr.Bob: By the mystery of this water and wine may we come to share in the divinity of Christ, who humbled himself to share in our humanity.
Blessed are you, Lord, God of all creation. Through your goodness we have this wine to offer, fruit of the vine and work of human hands. It will become our spiritual drink.

Blessed be God forever.

Fr.Bob: Lord God, we ask you to receive us and be pleased with the sacrifice we offer you with humble and contrite hearts. Lord, wash away my iniquity; cleanse me from my sin.

Fr.Bob: Pray, brethren, that our sacrifice may be acceptable to God, the almighty Father.

May the Lord accept the sacrifice at your hands for the praise and glory of his name, for our good, and the good of all his Church.

Fr.Bob: Recieve oh Lord, these gifts which we have prepared.

Fr.Bob: Lift up your hearts.

Fr.Bob: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.

It is right and just.

Fr.Bob: It is truly right and just, our duty and salvation,
always and everywhere to give you thanks, Father most holy, through your beloved Son, Jesus Christ,
your Word through whom you made all things, whom you sent as our Savior and Redeemer, incarnate by
the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin. Fulfilling your will and gaining for you a holy people, he
stretched out his hands as he endured his Passion, so as to break the bonds of death and manifest the
resurrection. And so, with the Angels and all the Saints we declare your glory, as with one voice we acclaim:

All:Holy, Holy, Holy Lord God of hosts. Heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest.
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.

Fr.Bob: You are indeed Holy, O Lord, and all you
have created rightly gives you praise, for through your Son our Lord Jesus Christ, by the
power and working of the Holy Spirit, you give life to all things and make them holy, and
you never cease to gather a people to yourself, so that from the rising of the sun to its
setting a pure sacrifice may be offered to your name.

Fr.Bob: Make holy, therefore, these gifts, we pray,
by sending down your Spirit upon them like the dewfall, so that they may become for us the
Body + and Blood of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Fr.Bob: At the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his Passion, he took bread and, giving thanks, broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying:

TAKE THIS, ALL OF YOU, AND EAT OF IT: FOR THIS IS MY BODY WHICH WILL BE GIVEN UP FOR YOU.

In a similar way, when supper was ended, he took the chalice and, once more giving thanks, he gave it to his disciples, saying:

TAKE THIS, ALL OF YOU, AND DRINK FROM IT: FOR THIS IS THE CHALICE OF MY BLOOD, THE BLOOD OF THE NEW AND
ETERNAL COVENANT, WHICH WILL BE POURED OUT FOR YOU AND FOR MANY FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS. DO THIS IN MEMORY OF ME.

Fr.Bob: The mystery of faith:

Save us, Savior of the world, for by your Cross and Resurrection you have set us free.

Fr.Bob: Therefore, O Lord, we celebrate the memorial
of the saving Passion of your Son, his wondrous Resurrection and Ascension into heaven, and as
we look forward to his second coming, we offer you in thanksgiving this holy and living sacrifice.

Fr.Bob: Through him, and with him, and in him, O God, almighty Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honor is yours, for ever and ever.

Amen.

All:Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant us peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy,
we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Fr.Bob: Lord Jesus Christ, who said to your apostles: Peace I leave you, my peace I give you, look not on our sins, but on the faith of your Church,
